Midsummer Dance on Friday, July 16  There will be non-stop dancing beginning at 7:30 pm and continuing to Midnight. Of coarse, Wednesday lessons and Friday pre-dance lessons are on summer hiatus during July and August. Albert Tailleur's Two-Step Lesson Posted on SNC Web Site
Lesson that was given at SNC on June 18
 UCWDC champion Albert Tailleur explained the differance between a beginner and advanced dancer, explained how spotting for the leads is facing the follow instead of down line, and showed us all how "the duck" is a mere illusion. His assistant is Jennifer Jeffries, Chicagoland Dance Festival Event Director. Albert will be on staff as an instructor at CDF next month.

Volunteers Needed to Help Set Up and Take Down Skyline at CDF
Julie Hein, Volunteer Coordinator, is waiting to hear from you. Many Hands Make Light Work | Each year we select a crew to erect and dismantle the Chicago skyline backdrop. We begin working on Thursday,August 19, the day before the Chicago Dance Festival opens. We start at about 5:00 pm and are done by 9:00 pm. Workers are treated to pizza and a beverage (ahem, of your choice) both courtesy of SNC. SNC points toward free admission to dances are another reward. |

July 1-4. Chicago Windy City Jitterbug Club presents Sweet Home Chicago. Westin Chicago Northwest, Itasca. Tenth Anniversary Celebration Open Dancing and Workshops.
July 9 - 11: Wisconsin Dance Challenge, Oneida Casino, Greenbay, WI. A very fun swing event. Three-tiered pricing covering early bird discount and full rate.
July 17: Saturday: The Chicago Rebels host a swing workshop and dance at The Centre at North Park, 10040 Addison Ave., Franklin Park, 60131. There is one dance only in July.
Saturdays: Chicago Dance News hosts Double Dance (swing and country and ballroom dance at Ballroom City, 207 S. Villa Ave., Villa Park, 60181. Check out Brian Wong's web site for their summer schedule. (map)
Fridays: X Dance hosts its dances on the 2nd and 4th Fridays at The Centre at North Park, 10040 Addison Ave., Franklin Park, 60131. However there are no dances during the month of July. (map)
July 18 Sunday. SOS (Swing on Sunday) presented by May I Have This Dance. There will be a special workshop called "The stretch thing" being held from 4:00 to 5:30 pm. Regular SOS dance and lessons will follow. (map)
Mondays: Maren Oslac hosts two four-week series of West Coast Swing lessons a month plus a dance at Heart & Sole Dance Studio, 7038 183rd St., Tinley Park, 60477. WCS 101 begins at 7:00 pm, WCS 102 begins at 7:45 pm and a dance immediately follows. (map)
Mondays: Jill Popovich Powers teaches Pilates in Arlington Heights starting at 7:00 pm. Pilates helps dancers of all levels learn to move their bodies more efficiently, resulting in smoother dancing, longer endurance, and more flexibility. You will feel better too! Contact Jill to learn more or for directions to the class.
Wednesdays: There are no lessons during July or August for Swing 'n' Country.
Thursdays: Thursdays at Sundance. A practice party coordinated by Richard Blumenthal and Ching Lin gives dancers an opportunity to share information about their country, latin and swing techniques and moves. 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. 300 Lakehurst Rd, Waukegan 60085.
