Beverly Solazzo has been a swing dance instructor since
1992. She is the past Dance Director of Chicago’s Windy City Jitterbug
Club and chief architect of that club’s 15 year lesson program which
encompasses jitterbug, west coast swing, hustle, nightclub 2, cha cha,
waltz and country 2-step.
In addition to being a lead instructor for that club since 1992, she has taught workshops at national ABA Dance Conventions and Swing events. Bev comes from a community theatre background including dancing, acting, choreographing and directing. She has been dancing for 35 years and has placed in various swing events, both nationally and locally.
Bev holds the titles of Chicago Citywide Jitterbug Champ for 1993 & 1995 and 1997 Masters Rising Star Champ. Bev enjoys working with her Pro/Mentor Carlos Garcia and in 2006 they captured 1st place with their routine at both the Michigan Classic and Nashville Classic.
In 2007, Bev and her competition partner, Randy Slone, joined the National Masters Swing Dance Tour and placed in the Top 10 Master Dance Couples at the U.S. Open. She enjoys teaching all styles of dance (East Coast, West Coast, Hustle, Nightclub, and, of course, Carolina Shag). Bev is looking forward to teaching West Coast Swing for Swing n’ Country and hopes to bring something to everyone including rhythm/timing patterns, styling, musicality and lots of fun learning!
